Announced on September 14, the investment plan includes the expansion of existing theme parks and attractions on Yas Island, as well as the development of new experiential destinations. The plan also includes increasing the island’s accommodation capacity.

New attractions and experiences on the way

Visitor experience will be one of the key focuses of Yas Island’s investments in the coming period. Expansion and improvement works are planned across existing theme parks, alongside the introduction of next-generation rides and immersive experiences.

According to Miral, the investments will focus on developing existing destinations on the island while introducing new experiences designed to respond to changing visitor expectations.

Hotel capacity to expand

Accommodation will be another key component of the investment. New hotel rooms are planned to be added to Yas Island, while existing accommodation options will also be enhanced.

As a result, the investment will extend beyond theme parks and attractions, with new projects planned across different areas of the island’s tourism and leisure infrastructure.

Investment separate from the Disney project

The investment of more than AED 12 billion announced by Miral will be carried out independently of the previously announced Disney project. This detail indicates that Yas Island is set to continue expanding through multiple major projects in the coming years.

The new investments are expected to expand Yas Island’s existing attraction portfolio, diversify the experiences offered to visitors, and increase the island’s accommodation capacity. Miral also stated that the investments are expected to contribute to employment and skills development in the tourism sector.

Over the next five years, Yas Island is set to undergo a significant period of transformation, with new attractions, expanded theme parks, and increased accommodation capacity.
