Preparations for the Osaka Edition Are Already Underway

Following the conclusion of IAAPA Expo Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, the figures released indicate that commercial activity surrounding the 2027 edition is already taking shape well ahead of the event.

According to an IAAPA announcement dated June 11, 2026, 216 companies have already secured a total of 5,130 square meters of exhibition space for the 2027 edition. This indicates that exhibitors are beginning their preparations for next year’s event in Osaka at an early stage. The same figures were also reported by industry publication InPark Magazine.

IAAPA’s current Expo Asia page projects more than 300 exhibiting companies and more than 20 educational sessions for the 2027 edition.

Japan at the Heart of the Global Attractions Industry

Hosting IAAPA Expo Asia in Osaka once again highlights Japan’s position in the global attractions industry.

Japan is one of the Asia-Pacific region’s prominent markets, with its theme parks, entertainment destinations, large-scale tourism investments, and advanced visitor experiences. Osaka is also expected to provide a strong setting for international industry gatherings, thanks to its high volume of tourism, well-developed transportation network, and proximity to major entertainment destinations.

From this perspective, Expo Asia 2027 will serve not only as a trade show for showcasing new products and technologies, but also as an important meeting point for investors, operators, manufacturers, designers, and technology companies looking to follow developments across the Asia-Pacific market.

Technology and Experience Design Take Center Stage

According to IAAPA’s current content framework for the 2027 edition, new technologies, robotics, immersive experiences, visitor experience, education, and professional networking are among the key areas of focus. The current program structure reflects how the industry is evolving beyond physical attractions, with technology and experience design becoming increasingly important.

The growing adoption of immersive experiences and new technologies across entertainment environments is also increasing the importance of the event as a platform for partnerships between technology developers and amusement park and entertainment facility operators.

From Hong Kong to Osaka: A Continuing Industry Gathering

Preparations for the Osaka edition began following IAAPA Expo Asia’s 2026 event in Hong Kong. The 2026 edition brought together 5,447 verified attendees from 2,522 companies and 3,655 qualified buyers. Industry professionals, manufacturers, and operators from different countries came together at the event, while new technologies and operational solutions were among its key areas of focus.

Following this strong participation, the move to Osaka in 2027 demonstrates Expo Asia’s continued role in tracking the momentum and development of the attractions industry across the Asia-Pacific market.

Education Program Taking Shape Alongside the Exhibition

IAAPA Expo Asia extends beyond its exhibition floor. Educational programs, professional networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing are among the key components of the event.

According to IAAPA’s current planning, the educational program will take place from June 28 to July 1, 2027, while the exhibition will run from June 29 to July 1, 2027, at INTEX Osaka. Official event information also indicates that more than 20 educational sessions are being planned.

By providing opportunities for attendees to follow new technologies while exchanging knowledge and experiences with industry professionals, these programs help position the event as a broader industry gathering extending beyond its commercial dimension.

The Countdown to Osaka Has Begun

With months to go before IAAPA Expo Asia 2027 opens its doors, the fact that 216 companies have already secured a total of 5,130 square meters of exhibition space demonstrates that preparations for the event are already well underway. IAAPA’s current event page, which targets more than 300 exhibitors, also points to further growth in the coming period.

As the exhibitor list and educational program become more defined, the Osaka edition is expected to provide greater visibility into new investments, technologies, and experience solutions emerging across the Asia-Pacific attractions market.

IAAPA Expo Asia 2027 will take place at INTEX Osaka in Osaka, Japan, from June 28 to July 1, 2027. The exhibition floor will open to visitors on June 29.
