Istanbul is preparing to host an international musical in the new cultural and arts season. The Bodyguard The Musical will make its Turkish premiere at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. The Istanbul performances will be organized by BKM.
A Cinema Classic Comes to the Stage
The musical adapts the story of the 1992 film The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, for the stage.
At the center of the production are famous singer Rachel Marron, who is facing threats, and Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent responsible for her security. The story begins when Farmer is assigned to protect Marron and follows how their relationship develops into a different dimension alongside growing security concerns.
The stage adaptation reimagines the film’s dramatic narrative through live music, acting, and choreography.
Whitney Houston’s Songs Are at the Heart of the Musical
The music from the film plays an important role in the stage version of The Bodyguard. Some of the standout songs from Whitney Houston’s career will be performed live as part of the musical’s repertoire.
The program features songs such as “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “I Have Nothing,” “Run to You,” “One Moment in Time,” “Greatest Love of All,” and “Queen of the Night.”

The Bodyguard The Musical, which will make its Turkish debut, will be staged at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage from September 11–20, 2026.
