Developed by Akşehir Municipality, the park brings together a range of facilities for different age groups. The project includes a walking and running track, sports courts, a children’s playground and designated areas for rest and recreation.
One of the main features of the park is its 440-metre tartan running and walking track. Visitors can also use a basketball court, a mini football pitch and calisthenics areas designed for outdoor exercise. A beach volleyball court is another part of the sports facilities within the park.
For children, the project includes a 1,300-square-metre playground with a rubber safety surface. Across the park, 19 shaded seating areas provide spaces for visitors to take a break, while a kiosk and parking area have also been included to support everyday use.
Work is also continuing on the skatepark, another sports-focused section of the project. The infrastructure has been completed, and the skatepark is expected to open in the coming days.
A Space for Outdoor Sports and Social Life
Genç Park has been designed not simply as a green area, but as an outdoor space that can be used for different activities throughout the day. The combination of playgrounds, sports facilities, a walking track and seating areas allows the park to serve different groups within the same public space.
Genç Park officially opened on 9 September 2026, adding a new destination for outdoor sports and recreation in Akşehir.
According to the municipality, the site had previously been an unused and neglected area. The redevelopment has transformed the site into a public space intended for residents.
With its combination of sports, recreation and outdoor social areas, Genç Park adds a new recreational destination to Akşehir’s public spaces.
