Cappadocia attracts visitors from around the world with its distinctive landscapes and rich historical heritage. Now, the NeoCappadocia project aims to add a new dimension to the region’s visitor experience by bringing technology and themed attractions into the picture.
Developed by DOF Robotics, the project represents an investment of approximately $20 million. Katapult, an international company specialising in experience design, is contributing to the project’s creative direction. The goal is to create more than a collection of attractions by combining technology and design with the stories and character of the region.
Bringing Cappadocia’s Stories to Life Through Technology
One of the key elements of NeoCappadocia is the opportunity for visitors to discover the region from a different perspective. Planned experiences include a flight simulator, hot-air-balloon-themed attractions and show areas inspired by local stories.
The collaboration brings together DOF Robotics’ attraction technologies and Katapult’s experience design expertise. Rather than using technology simply as a visual feature, the aim is to create environments in which visitors feel part of the experience itself.
More Than an Attraction Venue
The project is also being planned around dining and accommodation, alongside its attractions. The inclusion of themed accommodation units and a restaurant with panoramic views reflects the ambition to develop NeoCappadocia as a broader visitor destination.
This approach also highlights a growing focus within the attractions sector: bringing different experiences together in one place rather than offering visitors a single activity. By combining technology, architecture, local culture and accommodation, projects can create a more connected and memorable visitor experience.
Looking Ahead to the Next Stage
NeoCappadocia is targeting an opening in the second half of 2027. Once completed, the project aims to introduce a new dimension to Cappadocia’s tourism offering and broaden the range of experiences available in the region through technology-driven attractions.
As further details emerge, the project will be worth following for the way it brings attraction technologies and destination development together in Türkiye.
